Once you have cleaned out your garage and your neighbor's, you will have valuable experience on which you can build a business.

To be successful online, it is advisable to find a niche. While you will most likely have some competition, the less you have the better.

Are you an artist? Do you make quilts? Do you like to make candles? Do you like to build bird houses and feeders? Can you create software? How about writing an eBook about your knowledge and interest?

Even if you don't want to create a line of merchandise to sell, you can use the knowledge you gained from your hobby or interest and specialize in buying and selling things related to that interest.

You have a ready market, if you have the financial ability to buy in large quantities, re-package the merchandise, and then re-sell that merchandise to small eBay sellers in small lots.

You in essence have become a middle man.

You can do the same thing with things you find at garage sales. Package children's clothing by size and gender. Then sell them in lots of 3 to 5 pieces.

Sell several books as a set instead of one. Package old records by author as a collection. You get the idea.

Auctions have done this for years. If an item isn't getting a high enough price, add something else that is related and get more bids and more money.
