You can focus your business around the age group of your choice. Students of all ages need tutoring. If you are good at math but prefer the more advanced math subjects, then high school or college students are your niche.

If you prefer working with students that have learning disabilities or are falling behind for whatever reason you can concentrate working with these students.

The No Child Left Behind Act may in some cases subsidize tutoring under federal law.

There are many areas of study where you can offer tutoring services. Math, science, reading, writing, computer skills and foreign languages are just a few.
